Jewelry is delicate and should be treated gently and with love and care, so that you may enjoy each piece for a very long time. Below is a basic guide line to keep you and your jewelry happy!

Your jewelry should be the last thing you put one and the first thing you take off when. This way you avoid a chain or wire-wrap to catch on your top and give your jewelry a beauty sleep too!

Metals, Gemstones and especially Pearls do not like lotions, hairsprays, perfumes, chlorine and salt water. These will dull the surface and the metal will become more porous. So if you need to reapply perfumes or lotions during the day please take off jewelry.

When you are active doing strenuous workouts, manual labor, including housework, swimming and other activates that might subject your jewelry to sharp blows or excessive friction.

To avoid tangles and tears store each piece of jewelry in a pouch or box, even when it is tempting to throw it in a wallet or handbag.

To clean your jewelry from dust and oil from your skin, use either a professional jewelry cleaner or warm soapy water. Leave each piece in the solution for a few minutes (or per cleaning manufactures instructions) and if needed use a very soft toothbrush to gently scrub the jewelry. Remove item from soapy water, rinse it and dry thoroughly with a soft polishing cloth.

Additionally, please inspect your jewelry periodically or at least once a year. Just like a fine automobile needs a checkup and maintenance once in a while, making sure gemstones, wire wrapped links and settings are in good condition, can help prevent costly repairs or replacements. If a problem is found, the piece should be repaired immediately to prevent more extensive damage or loss. You can bring your piece to your local jeweler or contact me to have it repaired.

This way you will get to enjoy your jewelry longer!
